GM's Helping Goalies

NHL goalies have been whining that they are being abused by opposing forwards on a regular basis. They claim that the new crackdown on obstruction etc. has given these forwards a free pass to their goal crease area.

NHL General Managers are meeting this week, and have revived calls for elimination of the instigator penalty, as a way to allow their goons to protect their goalies. Hockey Spy.com has now learned that the GM's have now decided to go in a different direction to solve the problems.

As our Spycam photo clearly shows, the NHL has decided that a modest equipment change should give the goalies the extra space they are asking for. It would appear that forwards may be less inclined to run the goalies after this modest change is implemented. Just a hunch.
