Trade Deadline

The NHL trade deadline is a wild media frenzy north of the border. And it's a mere blip on the screen south of the border. The Canadian sports networks are offering 8 hours of coverage. With the new collective bargaining agreement that could result in one hour of analysis per trade. The days of 30 or 40 trades are long gone. Meanwhile, in the United States you will be hard pressed to find any network even mentioning the trade results. Gary Bettman's attempt to make the NHL a major sport in the United States continues to be a completely failed mission. Bowling now has higher ratings. But I'll bet bowling doesn't have the kind of trade day fun we have up here:
