F A I L E D    M I S S I O N S - March 13, 2007 Koci I guess someone in the NHL office forgot to tell David Koci. The league has been trying to clean up it’s image as a goon league that looks the other way when violence occurs. On the one hand the total number of fights is down. On the other hand the number of serious hits leaving unsuspecting players lying on the ice ko’d has been front and centre this week. First we saw Ottawa meathead Chris Neil lay out Sabres sniper Chris Drury. Then we had cementhead Cam Janssen finish off Toronto defenceman Tomas Kaberle. And then Chicago decided to call up young David Koci. Koci managed to wrack up a mere 3 fights in his first game to go along with a head jarring hit on Phoenix forward Bill Thomas.
