The October 21 issue of the Hockey News features an interesting article by Ken Campbell on former OHL player Brody Todd, who is suing the OHL, it's commissioner and a member team for his education school package. Todd has apparently been having problems getting the money he's entitled to. He's also suing for an additional $150,000 based on illegal restraint of trade, and he's taking a shot at getting the OHL draft abolished as well. The restraint of trade claim is based on OHL players receiving a maximum $50 per week, while the owners are taking in huge revenues in modern new facilities.

Should Todd go all the way with this lawsuit, it could have huge impact on how major junior hockey operates across Canada. Hockey Spy.com has been told that Todd has starting receiving phone calls from other former junior players who also struggled to get their education money paid to them.

Hockey Spy.com is interested in hearing from any former players who want to share their stories with us. Is Todd's story an exception to the rule or is junior hockey reneging on promised school packages on a regular basis?

Send your story to hockspy@hotmail.com and we will pass them on to our readers in a future installment of Junior Hockey Surveillance.
